Intensification of the wastewater treatment process using magnesium-containing materials

Abstract An analysis was made of the use magnesium-containing materials natural and technogenic origin in complex systems for purification wastewater from mining enterprises heavy metals. The transfer mechanisms dissolved metals into precipitate onto surface sorbent have been theoretically studied. Magnesium-containing minerals water partially undergo hydration, forming an association molecules. main mechanism is formation sparingly soluble metal hydroxides. adsorption, co-precipitation, co-crystallization impurities with products hydration hydrolysis also work. Exploratory studies intensification treatment process using carried out, which shown that residual concentration almost all metals, exception nickel chromium, when brucite at same pH level lower. highest efficiency observed zinc lead ions. addition dolomite to amount less than 10% makes it possible reduce cadmium 20-60 minutes contact other equal experimental conditions.
